It all started with a snap, literally. Abigail and Charles first met on Snapchat when Abigail received a message from her cousin introducing one of his friends. That friend was Charles. From the very first snap, they clicked. What began as casual chats quickly turned into daily conversations, deep talks, and (ironically) giving each other relationship advice, all while secretly admitting they had feelings for one another. There was just one problem, distance. Charles was living in Toowoomba, and Abigail was in Canberra. Weekly dates? Not happening. And honestly… where even is Toowoomba? So, they decided to stay friends rather than attempt long-distance. Life got busy, and after two years, they lost touch. Then one day, out of the blue, Abigail received a message: “Kamusta na?” (How are you?) Instant kilig. Butterflies. From that moment on, it felt like no time had passed. They started talking again just like old times and quickly realised they couldn’t go a single day without each other. The First Meeting Eventually, they decided it was time to finally meet in person. Sydney became the meeting point, and nerves were definitely involved. Charles took Abigail to the rotating restaurant at the Sydney Tower Eye. The view? Incredible. The food? Let’s just say… the view stole the show. But the date was perfect, and they both knew September 1 felt special, a pretty great date for an anniversary, if you may ask. From then on, they travelled back and forth every month to see each other (yes, very expensive, love is not cheap). One year later, Charles planned a surprise Abigail would never forget. After Abigail finished a night shift at work, she heard a knock at the door. Standing there was Charles. Surprise number one. Surprise number two? Charles had secretly asked Abigail’s parents for her hand in marriage and thankfully, they said yes! The Proposal On September 24, 2023, during a Europe trip with Charles’ family, Abigail had a feeling something might happen, so she got her nails done, just in case. On their first night seeing the Eiffel Tower light up, they were taking what Abigail thought were just normal photos. Until Charles suddenly dropped to one knee. Right there, under the sparkling Eiffel Tower, he asked the big question. And of course, Abigail said YES
