In September 2023, Abbie and Carlos met at their church over an icebreaker question about game shows. Abbie was sitting with a few friends when Carlos approached her pew to discuss the game show question. Carlos seemed like he was mostly focusing on Abbie during this time. After the service, Carlos's grandma invited Abbie and her friends to lunch. At the time, Abbie was unaware that this was Carlos's grandma, and she was surprised to see Carlos at that same lunch! To this day, they wonder if she was trying to set them up. Shortly after this, Abbie and Carlos signed up for a Bible study group, unaware that they would be in the same group together. While in this group, they discovered each other's love for Jesus and curiosity about the Bible. They then started talking more, and Carlos and Abbie had their first date at Yo Yo Yogurt on October 28, 2023. They officially started dating on November 16, 2023. On November 16, 2024, their one-year dating anniversary, Carlos proposed to Abbie at the Cosumnes River Preserve, which is where they had their first walk and their first kiss. They celebrated their engagement over dinner at Happy Lamb Hot Pot in Sacramento. We look forward to celebrating our wedding with you all!
