Brent and Abby's story begins in the most romantic of places… a small-town bar in October 2019. Abby had one simple mission that night: pick up her sister from the Sportsman’s Club in Miller City and head home. What she didn’t expect was to also pick up her future husband. Inside, Brent was there with friends—most notably wearing a captain’s hat that immediately caught Abby’s attention. Was he actually a captain? No. Was it bold, slightly ridiculous, and impossible to ignore? Absolutely. Thanks to a bit of small-town connection (Brent being an old high school classmate of Abby’s brother-in-law), Abby had her sister make the introduction. And in a move that still surprises her to this day, Abby did something she had never done before—she asked Brent for his phone number. Luckily for both of them, he said yes.
