Though we both grew up in Michigan, it took moving to North Carolina—at completely different times and for completely different reasons—for our paths to finally cross. Abby made the move to work as a nurse at Duke University Hospital, while Brenndan moved for family and to attend college at University of North Carolina, Wilmington. What neither of us knew was fate (and a little help from the Hinge dating app) was quietly leading us to each other. On our first date, something immediately felt different. Conversation flowed effortlessly, laughter came easily, and being together created a calming feeling that we have never known; it felt like we have known each other for a lifetime. Since that day, we have been each other’s biggest supporters; celebrating the highs, navigating the challenges, and enjoying every moment in between. What began as two Michiganders finding their way in North Carolina, turned into a love we’re so grateful for. We are so excited to celebrate the future we are building together, surrounded by the people that mean the most to us!

What started as a casual walk, Brenndan led Abby into a local rose garden in Raleigh, where he surprised her by getting down on one knee and asking the big question-- which got an immediate and repetitive "Yes!" The evening was celebrated after with happy tears, phone calls to family, and celebrating the next chapter of our lives beginning.
