Smalls Falls
Hike up the waterfall on this 0.5-mile out-and-back trail.
Quill Hill
Drive up Quill Hill to see incredible views of the surrounding area.
Saddleback Ski Area & Bike Park
Saddleback Ski Mountain is located within Rangeley and is approximately 15 minutes from downtown. They offer ski lift tickets for leaf peeping, mountain bikes for rent, hiking trails, and a full service restaurant and bar.
Sugarloaf Mountain
Sugarloaf Mountain is a ski mountain about 40 minutes from Rangeley. They may offer trips up the ski lift for leaf peeping; be sure to check their website in advance!
Bald Mountain
One of our favorites that is close to town: try this 3.8-mile out-and-back trail near Oquossoc, Maine. Moderate hike, takes an average of 2-3 hours to complete. Spectacular views!
Piazza Rock via Appalachian Trail
Get on the Appalachian Trail! 3.4-mile out-and-back trail near Rangeley, Maine. 2-3 hours. Easy to moderate. If you continue on this trail another 4 miles it will take you right up to Saddleback Mountain!
Tumbledown Mountain Trail
Approx 45 minutes from Rangeley, a truly unforgettable hike with plenty of rock and boulder scrambling and ladder rungs up to an alpine pond. 5.5-mile loop trail near Byron, Maine. This one is difficult but one of our favorites!
Moose Alley Bar and Bowling Alley
Bowling, billiards, entertainment, arcade, great food and just GOOD TIMES!
Outdoor Heritage Museum
The Outdoor Heritage Museum shares the unique history that has made the Rangeley region one of the premier outdoor destinations in America. Filled with vintage artifacts, film, and art from the region!
L.L.Bean
Located in Freeport (just outside of Portland) is L.L.Bean. Open 24 hours a day, it is a must-do every time we fly into Portland!
Portland Head Light
If you fly into Portland, we recommend a pit-stop to the Portland Head Light in Cape Elizabeth. It is classic coastal Maine...and the location where we got engaged!
Moose Meadows (9 hole golf course)
Great scenic 9 hole golf course in the woods located just outside Rangeley! Course operates on an honor system (~15$ cash) and has a ton of free clubs for use. There is no clubhouse, so don't forget balls!
Evergreen Golf Club
Proper 9-hole course located right outside downtown Rangeley. Located on the hillside with excellent views from the course. Has a clubhouse with clubs and carts for rent.
Oquossoc Grocery and Deli
One of our favorite spots for a quick bite to eat! The OG has a full menu of sandwiches and more for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
