It's Happening!

It was the first day of 6th grade. Our math teacher thought it be creative to sit us in alphabetic order by our first names. Naturally, Adam thought he would be first, but he wasn't. Abie sat in front of him and that's how this story started. Flash forward and Adam and Abie started walking home together after middle school track practice, this is where Abie developed a crush on Adam. Then came high school. Adam and Abie drifted apart, but came back together during their senior year musical Beauty and the Beast, where Abie was a student director and Adam was 1st chair trombone player. After that, they went to senior ball together, graduated high school and went to two separate collages. Adam and Abie kept up their long distance relationship for 8 years and in 2 different states. Finally in July of 2024, they moved to Colorado Springs together to start their new lives.

On a Tuesday evening over beers Adam was musing to his friend Mitchell about how he was hoping to propose to Abie the next weekend but had no plan for it. After discussion of what needed to take place, the two of them made a plan. That following Saturday, Adam took Abie out for lunch at the Golden Bee, lying to the staff the whole time that they were not there to celebrate anything. After a tasty lunch and some liquid courage the two set off to walk the grounds of the Broadmoor, something they had been meaning to do for a while so nothing was suspicious about that at all. Walking around the lake in the cool fall Colorado air, at the base of the mountains Adam found a spot. While Abie was distracted by some fountains Adam slyly pulled a ring box out of his pocket, went down on one knee, and asked "Abie, will you marry me?" A chaotic ensemble of excited yeses followed and the champaign was poured.
