Great ~30 minute car loop if you do not want to walk much to see the dunes! Absolutely breathtaking views. Many stops along the loop with the highlight being the Sleeping Bear Dunes Overlook - probably the steepest dune you'll ever see - climb down and back up it like we have if you're up for a challenge!
Walk several miles on sandy zigzagging trails to reach the water or simply take on the first (and most difficult) hill! Where some nice shoes if taking on in the afternoon, the sand can get very hot. Keep left up the first two hills until reaching some tall leafless trees with a picnic bench beneath them to find the small overlook where Conrad proposed to Abi :)
The water is so clear on this beach and has lots of skipping stones. Not super crowded either. Take a left once you hit the small 4-way intersection you can see the water from, then park alongside the road somewhere on Sleeping Bear Dunes Rd.
Kind of an extension of Glen Haven Beach, drive through the roundabout onto the sandy dirt road to find a very unexpected parking lot. From there, venture out on foot through some hilly sandy trails that lead to the water. Feel free to simply sit atop the tallest dunes that overlook the water and enjoy the view!
Great stop after going to the dunes. They have a cherry themed restaurant with yummy food. Great atmosphere.
Love to see the cows out on the farm. They have ice cream flights to sample different flavors. Our favorites are the cookies & cream, butter pecan, and raspberry sorbet.
This dock is about two miles long where Piping Plovers like to live (endangered birds). The dock is between the venue and Arcadia Bluffs. Great stop to jam out to music and get some steps in.
Absolutely breathtaking views. Even if you aren't a golfer it is a great atmosphere to grab a drink and chill out in one of the lawn chairs facing the lake. At sunset someone plays the bagpipes. If you decide to golf here be prepared to lose a dozen balls - it is a professional and challenging course!
The Old Mission Peninsula is our favorite TC peninsula. It has wineries, gardens, cherry fields, and a lighthouse. Fun fact: both of our sisters (Kaitlyn & Tasha) got engaged at the Mission Point Lighthouse!
Fun spot on the Old Mission Peninsula. They have pre-picked cherries and the option to pick from about four different cherry variations.
This winery is on the Old Mission Peninsula and is inside of an old school house! They have games outside also!
Winery on the Old Mission Peninsula with pretty views and tasty wine!
Winery on the Old Mission Peninsula with pretty views and good wine! There are so many wineries on this Peninsula that are all fun!
This town is a bit out of the way so we recommend stopping at other places like Leelanau Peninsula and Suttons Bay which are close by. It is a one of a kind historic town on the docks! They also have a few shops.
This peninsula has some unique shops and a few wineries. Suttons Bay is a great little town with lots to see down its main road!
This is where we ate before getting engaged up on the dunes :) Yummy food and a fun atmosphere! Located in downtime TC.
