accommodation

We’ll be staying at Hotel Cenobio dei Dogi in Camogli, and would love for guests to join us there or nearby if it suits you. Our top recommended places to stay are: Camogli (our favourite, full of colour, great restaurants and sea swims), Santa Margherita Ligure, and Rapallo. You’ll find a wide range of options across all budgets and group sizes in these towns. We’ve created a Booking.com link with accommodation recommendations, which we’ll continue to update. The Italian Riviera towns are wonderfully charming, but in a very authentic Italian way. There are no big hotels here; instead, most accommodation is made up of: - small boutique B&Bs - traditional Italian guesthouses - family-run hotels - Airbnbs tucked into the hills or overlooking the sea Everything is simple, natural and full of character. No frills, and that’s exactly why we love it here so much.

restaurants & local favourites

We’ve created a Google Maps list filled with our favourite restaurants, cafés, bars and aperitivo spots across the area - perfect for planning long lunches, sunset spritzes and leisurely dinners while you’re here. We’ll keep updating it with new discoveries and must-visit places as we find them.

hikes, trails & exploring

We’ve saved some brilliant routes on AllTrails, especially around Camogli and the heart of the Portofino Regional Park, where trails range from coastal strolls to steep mountain hikes. One of our all-time favourites is the Camogli to San Fruttuoso hike, a truly unforgettable day out. Expect colourful seaside villages, forest trails, incredible food, a swim in turquoise water in a hidden bay, an ancient abbey, and a ferry ride along the Ligurian coastline. There is no road to San Fruttuoso, so it can only be reached on foot or by boat. If you’re up for the walk, we couldn’t recommend it more. And if hiking isn’t your thing, ferries run regularly from nearby towns, the views from the water are just as spectacular.
