I was born in Japan, grew up in New Jersey, then moved to Colorado in 2013. I was homeschooled for all 12 years of my education, and loved it. My dad was in the Air Force until I was 15, which is why I was born in Japan. My family likes to call me Japanese, which I'm not, because of this. Not too long after moving to Colorado, I started working at Chick-Fil-A, which is where I first met Aaron. To be completely honest, I was rather scared of him for quite a few years, but I've gotten over that. I'm looking forward to seeing where the Lord takes us in the future!
I was born and grew up in Colorado. My Mom worked for the school district and my Dad was the GM of Chick fil a. I was always a part of the church and attended youth group regularly and even interned at PEPC for a couple of months. My Dad passed away when I was 18 and soon after that I went to college. I was still connected at Chick fil a throughout this time. It was at Chick fil a that I met Abi and the rest of the story is still being told.
This story actually started about a year and a half ago, in the summer of 2019. And it starts with a younger brother who doesn't know when to stop talking. But more on that later. The two of us, unknown to the other person, had secretly liked each other for some time at that point. But both of us, being the introvert that we are, were probably never going to do anything about it, or at least it would have taken us much longer. Here's where the younger brother comes in. Matthew, Abi's younger brother, also worked with us at Chick-Fil-A. Don't tell him we said this, but he is actually fairly perceptive, and he picked up on our feelings, almost before we knew them ourselves. And then he kept talking about it. Every time he would see us, he would make comments about how we would be perfect for each other. Both of us found these comments to be embarrassing and awkward, and kept trying to convince him to stop. But he never did, and here we are. We went to get coffee one night after work, our first time hanging out, and ended up talking for 6 1/2 hours. After that, things just progressed, until now, when we've already set a date for the wedding. We're still waiting to hear "I told you so" from Matthew. We're sure it's coming soon!
Aaron is going to basic training for the Air National Guard in March, and after that we will be moving to Cheyenne, WY, where he will be working full time with the National Guard. Abi will be left at home during basic training, eagerly awaiting his return. Once we move to Cheyenne, we're hoping to be able to buy a house, and start making friends and setting down roots in the community there.
