Mehendi

1:00 pm

Ranthambore, India

Attire suggestion: Green/earth tones while prioritizing comfort and ease of movement.

Mehendi, also known as henna, is a traditional form of body art that plays a significant role in Indian culture. It is believed to symbolize the bond of marriage, with a darker color indicating deeper love and affection between the bride and groom. The process of applying mehendi involves using henna paste to create intricate patterns on the skin, resulting in temporary designs that vary in complexity and style. This joyous occasion brings together me, my female relatives, and friends to adorn our hands and feet. As the henna paste dries, it leaves behind a reddish-brown stain on the skin, creating beautiful, temporary body art that can last up to two weeks. Mehendi serves as a symbol of beauty, auspiciousness, and celebration, and is believed to bring good luck and fortune.

Sangeet

6:00 pm

Attire suggestion: Shinny or bright color indo-western attire or western formal wear

The Sangeet ceremony is a vibrant and joyous pre-wedding celebration in Indian culture, filled with music, dance, and jubilation. It serves as an opportunity for family members and friends from both sides to come together and celebrate our union in a festive atmosphere. The Sangeet ceremony often begins with lively musical and dance performances on traditional Indian songs, popular Bollywood tunes, and folk music. Guests are encouraged to join in the revelry, dancing to the rhythmic beats and cheering on the performers, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and joy.
