Abel and Miriam first came to know each other through mutual family-friends who thought they would connect given their similar career paths. Coincidentally around this time, Abel was planning a trip to visit friends in the New England area, where Miriam was from. He reached out to Miriam shortly before his trip, and they met up at Tatte Bakery and Cafe to grab some coffee, and walk around Harvard Yard. Miriam rushed into a busy coffee shop and was met with Abel's warm smile, a hug, instant conversation and laughter. Abel was immediately drawn in by her warmth, beauty, and calming presence. They quickly hit it off, and by the end of the date, shared that they wanted to continue getting to know each other more.
Soon after meeting, they found themselves learning about each other daily, connecting over their shared interests, passions, career paths, and faith. As she got to know Abel, Miriam was impressed by his intelligence and quick wit. She was touched by his heart for his family and friends, encouraged by his faith & values, and motivated by his work-ethic. Abel found Miriam to be intentional, kind, thoughtful, and moment-to-moment, which complemented him well. Her heart for counseling and serving others also stood out to him. Day by day, they grew in love, with a foundation of deep friendship and care for one another. Their relationship led them to many different places including Dallas, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Austin, and Montreal. They went on many adventures and created beautiful memories together during this time of discovery and growth in their relationship. Little did they know, this was just the beginning of their story.
On August 3rd, 2024, Abel proposed to Miriam in Boston, MA, the same city they first met. He planned with some of their closest friends and family to create a day they both would never forget. Miriam was told by a few of her friends that they were going out to a fancy dinner in the city that day. She dressed up and arrived to Seaport, MA to be met by a group of their loved ones, and Abel...with a guitar! He held her hand as they walked up the stairs of an outlook overlooking a scenic view of the Boston Waterfront, and sang a song he had wrote for her about all their special moments, how they'd fell in love, and how excited he was to marry her. He got down on one knee and asked to spend the rest of his life with her...and she said yes! Since then, Abel and Miriam have excitedly been planning, praying, and preparing for a beautiful wedding celebration, and most importantly, a meaningful marriage. We are so excited to share our special day with you all, & we can't wait to see you soon!
