This decision was made to help keep our loved ones safe, especially those with pre-existing complications. We understand that what's most important is the health of our friends, family, and ourselves and with that we feel extremely blessed and do not take it for granted. We were looking forward to celebrating with you, and hope that you will be able to attend once the new date is decided. With love, Abel & Molly
My dream was to propose to Molly under the northern lights. When we went to Iceland last year, our chances of seeing it were very low. We also needed to account for clear skies and the KP level (how bright the lights are); the highest level is 9. After dinner on our second night in Iceland, our host told us there was level 2 activity, but we needed to drive 40 minutes east for clear skies. Understanding that there may not be another opportunity, I convinced Molly that it was worth seizing the opportunity. We drove for about 20 minutes in complete darkness until we finally saw the faint glow above. The adrenaline rushed through me as I rehearsed my lines in my head and unintentionally drove faster. After we finally pulled over, I handed our friends the camera "for a picture". Molly and I posed for a photo, and I pulled a Pokeball out of my pocket, faced Molly, and got down on one knee. It felt like the air was sucked out of me. I forgot everything I wanted to say. I couldn't even utter a word. Molly thought I was messing around, and laughed while telling me to get up. After what felt like an eternity, I was finally able to muster "Would you marry me?" She looked closer and asked if it was candy inside the Pokeball (she says in her defense that it was too dark to see). Molly really had no idea I would propose. She thought I hadn't asked her parents yet, and thought I would propose early next year. So after finally realizing I was being serious, she said yes and I placed the ring on her finger.
