Sam and Abby are both keeping their names, so please send any correspondence to Abby Vander Linden and Sam Reed.
The wedding will be outdoors in the field next to Sam's grandparents house on beautiful Lummi Island. Lummi Island is about a 10-minute ferry ride from the mainland. The mainland ferry is about a 25 minute drive from Bellingham, WA, which is about 2-3 hours drive north of Seattle, depending on traffic. It's a little remote but we promise you, it's worth the trip! P.S. there will be an accessible bathroom
We're going for a fairly relaxed outdoor vibe, but we want to get a little fancy, too--let's call it "cocktail casual". Sundress? Sure! Three piece suit? Go for it! Shirt and slacks? Absolutely! Sequined top hat? Yes, please! Wear something comfortable for the summer heat, but definitely bring a jacket or a wrap for later in the evening. If you like a high heel, a block heel or wedges will probably be best given the uneven outdoor surfaces.
The key issue here is the proximity vs amenities trade-off. Lummi Island is gorgeous but there is really, genuinely, nothing to do apart from attend our awesome wedding. There are some Airbnb rentals on the island but they tend to be expensive. There are also Airbnbs nearby in the Bellingham area, and several guests will be staying at the Bellingham Holiday Inn. The Lummi Casino also has a hotel if that's your jam. Sam and Abby will be camping out in the field after the event winds down and we invite anyone who's interested in the full PNW rustic wedding experience to join us! July is typically the best and driest time to camp, and there should be some excellent stargazing. If you're interested in this option, please let us know! We'll plan to cook a nice camp breakfast the morning after for anyone who stays.
