As crazy as this may sound I’m one of those lucky girls who actually met, and am now marrying, a guy from Tinder! You never think you’ll meet your best friend and soulmate from a dating app that people use for eveything but finding a life partner but I was lucky enough to do it! Nathan and I began talking and instantly knew that we were made for each other. We had so many things in common, we shared so many intrests, passions, values, and life goals. We had the same background, love for our families, and future dreams. Everything was perfect and I couldn’t have asked for someone better to start a life with! After a couple days of talking we decided to make things offical. Though Nathan was hesitant to ask me to be his girlfriend over text he went with it and I couldn’t be more excited to say yes! Nathan and I decided to meet for the first time at my parent’s house in Schoolcraft, we began spending time together each weekend travelling from Grand Rapids to Schoolcraft and back!
Though the wonderful pictures from our engagement make it seem as though I was totally surprised truth is I knew everything that was happening. I knew the date, I knew the location, I knew the time, and I knew I had to look just perfect. I remember knowing the date so far in advance that I talked about it everyday with all the girls at my new job, they were so excited for me and wanted to know all of the details! I prepared for the day by getting my eyebrows waxed, my nails done, my hair cut colored and curled, and my makeup professionally done. I don't think I have ever seen Nathan as nervous as he was on the day of the proposal but just like everything else Nathan does this was absolutely perfect! The view was perfect, the ring was perfect, but nothing was as perfect as seeing my best friend drop to one knee and ask me the best question "Will You Marry Me?". The biggest thing I remember was that we had always talked about a proposal in front of Cinderella's Castle at Disney World. Because we're in the middle of a pandemic we had to improvise so he decided on downtown Grand Rapids behind the JW Marriott, one of my favorite places! I remember him pointing to the back of the Grand Rapids Public Museum and saying that it sort of looked like the Disney Castle- HA, not really but I wouldn't have wanted it any other way!
