The Newport Cliff Walk is a 3.5 mile stretch, a public access walk that combines the natural beauty of Newport's shoreline with the architectural history of the city's Gilded Age. The Cliff Walk is one of the main attractions in Newport, combining the Newport shoreline with the architectural history of Newport's gilded Age. The walk starts at the western end of Easton's or First Beach at Memorial Blvd. and runs south with major exits at Narragansett Ave., Webster St., Sheppard Ave., Ruggles Ave., Marine Ave., Ledge Rd., and ends at Bellevue Ave. at the east end of Bailey's Beach locally referred to as Reject's Beach.
If traveling by car, tour Newport's famous 10-mile drive. The drive combines the history of the Newport Mansions, with publics parks, and miles of public access shorelines to rank as one of the most popular drives in the country. The full 10-mile drive has four legs: Brenton Cove Shore, East Passage of Narragansett Bay, Ocean Drive, and Bellevue Ave. The properties of Bellevue Ave are almost exclusively residential, including many of the Guilded Age mansions, which can also be seen by the Cliff Walk.
