We're getting married!

You could say our relationship started like a lot of millennials now! We met on a dating app. Abby only had the app for 24 hours. We matched right away and quickly discovered that we had a lot in common. Our favorite artist at the time was Chris Stapleton and our favorite number was 22. We eventually exchanged numbers and went on our first date two weeks after we had matched. Our first date was in Kokomo where Abby was going to school at the time. We really took our time and got to know each other for a few months before finally introducing each other to our families in May of 2017. Fast forward to ten months later Casey proposed about a month after we celebrated our one year anniversary. We feel so blessed and truly know that God put us together! It's true when they say you know when you know, and great things happen when you least expect them. We cannot wait to be Mr. and Mrs. Colby this September!

For months Abby and Casey were planning to visit her Nana in Florida in March. Amelia Island is where Abby's Nana and Papa raised her mom and their other four children. Amelia Island is Abby's favorite place in the world. Casey originally planned to propose to Abby on a private beach there but struggled with the logistics of getting the ring there secretly and safely. The night before Abby and Casey left for Florida Abby was working and had to run a couple errands before coming home. Casey called her while she was driving home from work to delay her arrival and to get a ETA. He asked her to pick up a few things to make for dinner so they didn't have to eat out and could stay in to finish up packing. Abby went to the grocery store and finally pulls up into the drive way. She proceeded to take her time to come into the apartment and Casey nervously peeks out the window. Arms full of groceries, she opens the door to find their love song playing, candles lit everywhere, and rose petals on the wooden floor with a beautiful engagement ring sitting in the middle of it all. Abby stood there in the doorway in amazement like time had stopped. Casey finally came around the corner and had to wave Abby in. They hugged for awhile before Casey began to tell Abby all the ways he loves her. With tears in his eyes he followed those sweet words with getting on one knee and asking her to marry him. Abby of course said yes and they are still on cloud nine a year later!
