First, I said, “No.”… The first time our lives overlapped was when we matched on an app in the winter and I wouldn’t even entertain a date because he waited to ask until I was headed back to college. However, quiet persistence was the name of the game. As the school year drew on Christian started traveling with work with Bryan Bros and I became increasingly busy in my year between undergrad and medical school. It became a normal thing for a trip recap and highlight reel, that turned into a daily conversation to talking non stop, that conversation then was a: “What are the chances you’re in town next weekend?” And since that date at Bond and Bevel, we both knew. Absolutely lights out. I threw the hard questions in front of him, and he took it all with grace and returned them. Both of our faces were sore from smiling and laughing so much as we got to know each other more over coffee. And now this man who was game to meet me for the moment between in my crazy schedule was sitting across the table from me and I did not want to leave. My sly innocent, “Well what’re you doing tomorrow?”, was answered with an equally quippy “Probably whatever you’re about to tell me we’re doing.” I figured if he was going to stick around might as well take the opportunity to have him meet my people, so we did just that. He met my family at the Boise Farmer’s market the next day, and he made it folks. As a recap later, everyone could tell by the way we interacted and looked at each other, they could tell this was where we were headed. Since then Christian and I have grown into what it looks like to love someone well across the country and how to support each other as we pursue dreams and careers that are demanding, all the while working on growing as individuals for the other. We can not express to you how much it means to have felt your support for us and our story and we are so excited to celebrate with you as we move forward into this new phase of life and beginning our marriage!
