Best friend to the bride for almost 15 years! John is the best (and funniest) friend and travel partner anyone could ever ask for! {If you catch him, ask his favorite destinations - There are very few he hasn’t experienced}. His wit and intelligence are the most prominent features you may notice, but his heart is the real treasure. John loves hard and would do anything for his friends. He might seem quiet, but he’s responsible for many laughing fits and sore cheeks from smiling too hard. He currently lives in the Netherlands and is only here visiting for our special day along with some friends. (We’re so glad you’re here!!) Through so many years and so many miles, the continuance of our friendship has meant so much to me. Tanner is one of the best humans there is. He’s been the best friend of the groom since his childhood and has accompanied him through adventures of music, college, and just life altogether. Tanner is the husband of Jacqueline Hillis-Bumbalough and the loving father of new baby Livie Jane. Though familial relation with Tanner may be distant to the groom, he is considered a brother nonetheless.

Why I am who I am. This woman has poured her heart into me since the day I was born, and I couldn’t be more thankful. She dedicated 100% of herself to being the best mother, provider, and friend to me. She taught me to always put God first, taking me to church my whole life, instilling good morals in me, and making sure I was kind to everyone.. She listens to me, NEVER judges me, prays relentlessly for me, and has guided me back to Christ many times. Oh boy! What fun Danny is! One of my favorite things about Danny is his laugh! He can light up a room with his presence, but just wait until he pulls a guitar out! This man can play like he’s in the Grand Ole Opry, but you’ll rarely hear it… He’s humble and kind, quiet and wise… My very favorite thing about this man is his Christ-likeness. He strives in all aspects to show patience and kindness to the people around him, and has taught his son to respect others, but to also be bold and to stand up for himself and what is right. Otto Hillis was a great man who left a great legacy. His kind and generous spirit is missed every day by family and friends and he’s remembered fondly. He was a great example of how to love the Lord and how to extend that love to others around him. From his tall-tale stories of the famed Rocky River Wampus cat, to the memories passed down by hundreds of the Hillis Rolling Store, Otto left an unmeasurable impression on Jacob, and everyone who ever knew him. Etoille, like Otto, left a hole in the Hillis family and Rocky River community that is unable to ever be filled. From her remembered presence in the kitchen, her sits on the front porch cleaning magnolia seeds, and her presence every Sunday at the Cumberland Freewill Baptist Church, she will never be forgotten and always remembered.
