Our Story

(its a little like The Notebook)

Wilson and I met seven years ago at a concert on the downtown mall in Charlottesville. We fell head over heels for each other right away. I ended up needing to leave the concert early to relieve my sitter and Wilson asked if he could get me a t-shirt. Well sometimes life does not always go the way we wish it would, and the timing back then was not favorable for either one of us. Wilson had a very demanding job that left little time in his schedule for much else, and I had not too long ago divorced and was trying to pull my life together for me and my three young daughters. Over the next six years Wilson and I remained friends although due to the distance (I ended up moving out to the Midwest where my brother was living at the time) our communication was limited to letters, emails and the occasional phone call. During this time a lot changed for both of us. Wilson bought land and moved to the country. He also discovered the Unitarian church where he found a bigger family and learned and grew as a person. I worked on my schooling, developed my career, and most importantly continued to be a mom first to my beautiful children. One day as Wilson and I were texting back and forth we reminisced about the special connection we had shared in what now seemed so long ago. We talked about hypothetically visiting each other. Over the years Wilson had at different times invited me to come see his land. It just so happened my girls were visiting their dad and I had some flight miles to use. It was all spur of the moment but I decided to get on a plane and spend a weekend with Wilson in Appomattox. As soon as we saw each eachother at the airport it was clear the special connection we shared from that first moment was still very much there. We visited a few more times and it was clear we were still head over heels for each other and we knew were meant to be together.
