Vince and Abby met through a mutual friend in April 2022 at Christ the King Chapel (where they're getting married!). They started talking as friends but then grew apart over the summer. Fast forward to February 2023, they started talking more after Mass at the Chapel, and Vince invites Abby to do homework with him one night. They hit it off and got no homework done, but both thought the night was a big success. They started hanging out more and Vince decided to join Music Ministry, being heavily swayed that Abby was already part of this group. They spent Easter together in Iowa, marking their first holiday together (unofficially). Then, just after midnight on April 26th, the day between their birthdays, Vince asked Abby to be his girlfriend. After Vince's graduation that May, they took their first road trip across the country together after just four weeks of dating (it was Vince's first time in Washington). That summer they spent two and a half months dating long distance, with Abby in Washington and Vince in Iowa. It was extremely difficult, but their relationship grew in love, trust, and communication. They were reunited in Davenport in August. They spent the fall in school - Abby finishing nursing school and Vince starting grad school for physical therapy. After Abby's graduation in December, they spent another month at long distance while Abby was home in Washington for the holidays. In January 2024, Abby started her job as a nurse at the University of Iowa and moved into an apartment in Davenport. Vince helped her move in the middle of a blizzard. In April they celebrated one year of dating. Then, on Memorial Day weekend, on a trip to Nashville with Abby's parents, Vince got down on one knee and asked Abby to marry him. Of course, she said yes! We can't wait to celebrate our wedding with you!
