Downtown Chicago
Since we live in the city, we have to recommend making the trip into downtown Chicago! Chicago has a little bit of everything, so whether you’re into food, shopping, art, or just exploring, it’s worth the trip downtown. - Explore our neighborhood, Wrigleyville, and check out Wrigley Field - Millennium Park + The Bean - Art Institute of Chicago - Architecture Riverwalk - while winter limits boat tours, the Riverwalk is still stunning with lights and skyline views -Magnificent Mile for everything from luxury stores to classic Chicago shops
Gilt Bar
So many great places to grab a bite to eat while downtown, but one of our favorite restaurants in the city is Gilt Bar! If you arrive into town early and want to head downtown, we highly recommend- you must try the Truffle Mozzarella sticks!
Hugo's Frog Bar & Fish House
This was one of Mona’s favorite restaurants in the city when she and Bob would visit. Now, Hugo’s is a special spot that Abby and her dad love to go to whenever he’s in town. Located in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood, it’s the sister restaurant to Gibsons — another Chicago classic (and right next door!).
The North Shore
If you’d rather stay close to where we’re celebrating, the North Shore has plenty to offer — - Explore Northwestern University Campus - Walk the Northwestern Lakefront (bring a jacket!) - Shopping at boutiques on Elm Street in Winnetka - Enjoy a coffee shop in the area! - Restaurants: Pescadero (Wilmette), Avli (Winnetka), Ēma (Glenview), Mino's (Winnetka)
Valley Lodge Restaurant
A cozy neighborhood restaurant that’s extra special to us—Tracey proposed here! Great food, laid-back vibes, and a place that will always hold a piece of our story. Definitely pop in for dinner or lunch! They also have a location in Wilmette!
Jackman & Co.
If you’re looking for a great meal closer to where the wedding festivities will be, check out Jackman & Co. in Glenview – Tracey’s hometown! It’s delicious, cozy, and one of our favorites to recommend.
