Abby and Ryan grew up only 8 minutes away and 1 town over. They met online and on March 18th 2018 met up for a cup of coffee, tea for Abby. Afterwards, Ryan asked Abby if she would like to go on a second date. Abby replied “Maybe”. He must have made an impression because she took him up on that second date. Abby and Ryan are both lovers of the beach, especially Cape May. Both grew up going to the Jersey shore. Ryan grew up going to his families’ houses in Avalon Manor and West Cape May. Abby again grew up just one town over in Wildwood Crest. On August 21st 2021, Ryan proposed to Abby in the best way he saw fit. Under the disguise of a party for her mom, both families descended upon Abby’s parents house in Cape May. Under the protection of the infamous “Cape May bubble” a hurricane was staying just far enough away to make way for a spectacular sunset. A little while after everyone gathered on the beach to prepare to marvel at what would be a glorious sky there was low rumble. Hugging close to the shore, a plane began to appear. Suddenly the message trailing behind it was in focus. “❤️ABBY WILL YOU MARRY ME?❤️LOVE RYAN” read the banner. Abby began to well up, turning back towards Ryan to see him on his knee with a ring. He told her she was his best friend and his everything and wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. He then asked her to marry him. She obviously said YES! The same stretch of beach the proposal took place is across the street from where they will be wed. While occasionally off key, Abby and Ryan sing, dance, and love to the beat of their own Drum.
