In August of 2017, Rahil and Abby met at Session C, Yellow, Camp Frasier in Lakeview, TX. They were both attending Fish Camp (Freshman Orientation Camp) for Texas A&M University, prior to starting their first semester. While at Fish Camp, they hung out with similar groups and had a ton of fun at the camp thrown dance nights! Following the end of camp, Rahil slid into Abby's GroupMe DM's and asked for her number. Abby gave him her number, Instagram, Snapchat and newly created Facebook. You could say they maybe liked each other just a bit. They texted on and off leading up to move in week and from there spend much of their time with each other and their friend group for the first 2 weeks of school. After that first 2 weeks of hanging out in College Station, they went out to dinner with a group of friends. On the way back, they had a VERY serious freshman minded conversation that ended in, "we don't want to rush into anything, let's enjoy our college experience". The same day, one week later, Rahil couldn't take just being friends anymore, and asked Abby if she would be his girlfriend!
Several years down the road, after graduating college and both moving to the East Coast for work, Abby and Rahil were visiting Texas A&M together for the first time in 2 years! Rahil had convinced Abby that they were going to visit his brother and reminisce on campus. Abby should've known something was up, when her sister was also in College Station for the weekend, and asked to get their nails done for some "sister bonding". Abby agreed and didn't think anything more of it. Rahil and Abby decided to meet on campus before dinner and walk around Aggie Park. They reached the middle of the bridge and Rahil started to slow down. Abby thought they were taking in the scenery so naturally she pointed out someone catching a fish from the pond. When she turned around, Rahil had gotten down on one knee, to ask her to marry him! She said yes and then got to spend the evening celebrating with family and friends!
