It was a typical fall Sunday in New England and the Patriots had crushed the Buccaneers that afternoon. Abby was taking part in the Country Sunday at the Playwright in South Boston. Phil was enjoying some laughs with his friend Shawn when he walked in to the Playwright. Abby immediately noticed Phil and turned to her friend, Laura and said: "look at that cute guy!" Laura had some trouble spotting the good looking 6'4" Phil, but eventually she picked him out and waved him over. "Have you met Abby?" she asked and walked way, and the rest is history.
It was a rainy Friday night and Phil was out to dinner with his friend Terrence. The plan was for Abby to meet them at the bar to hear one of their favorite local bands and dance the night away. Phil had alternate plans. On her way to the bar, Abby got a call from Phil asking that she first come to Barnes and Noble because he "had to show her something cool." Abby thought it was a strange request, but assumed Phil had found another nerdy business book so went with it. When Abby arrived, Phil showed her a children's book titled "The Fox and The Cow" written by a Philip R Blake. She thought, "oh, cool someone with the same name as you wrote a book. Can we go now?" Phil wouldn't let it go and excitedly told her to read it. After a few pages, Abby realized the story in the book sounded familiar. It was the story of their relationship and it was written by the one and only Philip R Blake! Looking up from the page where the Cow (Phil) asks the Fox (Abby) to marry him, she saw Phil down on one knee with a ring. It was an easy yes! So off the bar they went to celebrate!
