Question

COVID Travel Information

Answer

Stay up to date on current travel procedures here: https://www.discoverpuertorico.com/info/travel-guidelines

Question

How do I get to Puerto Rico?

Answer

Arrival into San Juan airport (SJU) is recommended, nearby Aguadilla Airport (BQN) is also an option but flights seem to be expensive/limited. You can get to Puerto Rico by air or by sea. Airlines such as Delta, American Airlines, United, Southwest, Jet Blue, and Spirit Airlines have direct flights to the island. To give you an idea, the island receives over 1,300 weekly non-stop flights and almost 1,000 direct flights. Most of these flights come from cities like New York, Boston, Orlando, Philadelphia, Hartford, Dallas, Houston, Baltimore, Washington, and Chicago.

Question

What ID do I need to enter Puerto Rico?

Answer

Since Puerto Rico is a territory of the United States, American citizens do not require a passport to enter the island, although it is necessary that they always travel with valid ID.

Question

How do I get from San Juan to Rincon?

Answer

There are detailed instructions on the travel page, but the rental car seems to be the best option. We are encouraging people to coordinate as much as possible with each other to 'caravan' together. We will work to provide guest contact information for travel collaboration. Other information about transport around the island: https://www.discoverpuertorico.com/transportation#!grid~~~random~1

Question

What wedding events am I expected to attend?

Answer

*All wedding events are held at Villa Maria* We are welcoming guests to come to a Groom's Grillout Saturday night, the Ceremony Sunday, and a Bride's brunch Monday morning. Outside of that, come and go as you please. We intentionally picked a destination wedding to keep our day intimate and also to give you and excuse to go on vacation. Please plan to enjoy your time as much as possible! There is plenty to do and everyone is welcome to buddy up and hang out - bioluminescent bay, art walks and farmers markets, surf lessons, visits to the restaurants and bars without Rincon are all on our list of things to do!

Question

Dress code?

Answer

Beach casual? The ceremony will take place on the beach, the reception on the veranda of the villa - be prepared to be outside and in the sand!

Question

Currency?

Answer

Dolla Dolla bills ya'll (US dollar)

Question

Weather?

Answer

The climate in Puerto Rico is warm and tropical (i.e. expect an afternoon shower during the summer months). Historically in June, daily high temperatures are around 88°F, rarely falling below 85°F or exceeding 91°F. Daily low temperatures are around 77°F, rarely falling below 75°F or exceeding 80°F. We've been told rain is a possiblity in the afternoons, so come prepared!

Question

Will my phone work?

Answer

American travelers do not need to opt for international plans to make calls since their phones will work perfectly on the island. In Puerto Rico there is 4GLTE network. In remote areas of the island, cellular service and data coverage can be spotty, so always plan ahead if you're going into the mountains, for example. 'gram hard or go home
