HOW DO I GET TO STEAMBOAT? We have a lot more detail on the "Travel" page of our website, but to summarize, most of our guests will either fly into Denver International Airport (DEN), a 3 to 4 hour drive to Steamboat ski mountain, or Yampa Valley Regional Airport located in Hayden Colorado (HDN), a 35 minute drive to Steamboat ski mountain. From both airports, you can rent a car, or book a shared or private shuttle to the Steamboat Ski Mountain base.
WHERE SHOULD I STAY? Driving to the venue is not permitted, so please stay at the base of the Steamboat Ski Mountain where our shuttles will be picking up and dropping off from the Steamboat Grand, Gravity Haus and the Gondola Transit Center. Check out our accommodations page for specific recommendations and discount codes.
CAN WE DRIVE TO YOUR WEDDING VENUE? Personal cars are not allowed at the wedding ceremony or reception venue, so we are providing complimentary shuttle service to and from Flying Diamond Ranch. Shuttles will be departing the Steamboat Grand Hotel and Gravity Haus at 4:15 sharp. Returning shuttles will run continuously from 9:30 until Midnight
ARE THE SHUTTLES AND VENUE ADA ACCESSIBLE? If you require an ADA shuttle to and from our wedding, please reach out to our wedding planner, Lindsey at (970) 846-5680. She will be happy to assist with your transportation needs. Our wedding venue is ADA compliant and ranch staff is always on hand to assist with your needs.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO THE WEDDING? Formal Attire: Dress up for the occasion! Women in long or midi dresses, and men in dark suits.
ARE CHILDREN INVITED TO THE WEDDING? We love your little ones, but we kindly ask that you join us for an adults-only wedding and reception. We promise it will be an unforgettable celebration! If you’re traveling to Steamboat with children, please plan ahead and arrange childcare for the wedding day. Steamboat Babysitting is a great local company with insured and experienced sitters. https://www.steamboatbabysitting.com
CAN I WEAR MY 4” STILETTOS TO THE WEDDING? Although the tent is floored and carpeted, the ceremony, cocktails and outdoor space is grass so we highly recommend something with a chunky heal or flats. There is also a short walk to the loo on a dirt/gravel road. If you need assistance ranch staff is there to help!
WHAT’S THE TEMPERATURE IN STEAMBOAT? The average day time temperature mid July is highs mid-high 80’s and nighttime temperatures are in the mid-high 40's. Our reception tent is walled and heated if need be but we do suggest a shawl, sweater or pashmina for the evening.
WHAT’S THE ELEVATION IN STEAMBOAT? Steamboat sits at 6732 ft above sea level. If you are not used to altitude, remember to drink plenty of water, stay hydrated and don’t over do it your first day in town. The elevation also means you’re closer to the sun so please remember to bring your sunscreen!
