Kenan and I both attended the beautiful Appalachian State University. He was a Junior and I was a Sophomore in the industrial design program when we met at an interest meeting for a study abroad trip to the Czech Republic (2.21.17). We quickly started crushing on each other and fell into the flirting stage - but the real story begins when we traveled to Europe together a few weeks later (with some of the best friends!), and had the trip of a lifetime studying abroad! In six short weeks, we learned a tremendous amount about each other (and some design too of course) and were absolutely falling in love with each other. Some of our best memories so far happened on this trip, and we are constantly recollecting those moments. Falling in love with someone while traveling somewhere beautiful is truly something special. We constantly thank God for this amazing journey he has blessed us with! :)
In December 2018, I visited Kenan in Boston, his current home. One of the evenings during my stay, we went out to dinner with two of our great friends, Jaylene Franco and Alex Hardison, at a restaurant near MIT. Walking to the train station after dinner (in the blustery cold!!), we passed a beautifully lit Christmas tree. Kenan suggested that we get pictures in front of it, so we did. Little did I know that once Kenan and I stood up next to that tree, he would get on one knee and ask me to be his wife, using his great grandmother's ring. The proposal was completely unplanned on his part - he was waiting for the perfect moment, and it had finally arose. In the photos that Alex and Jaylene took, one of the lights that was right above the ring he was holding up, shined the brightest on the tree. oh yeah, and I said yes yes YES! <3 We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in March! <3
