We met in May of 2025. Josiah was touring Liberty University Law School, and Abby was living in Durham at the time. We matched on Hinge right before Josiah flew back to California, where he would be living until he moved out to Lynchburg in July. After only a few days of talking, we realized two things: 1) we really liked each other, and 2) we’d have to wait a few months to meet in person. The next two months were full of long phone calls and FaceTimes, talking about anything and everything, ranging from our favorite music and the most recent highlights from Formula 1 to our journeys in our faith and how much we both love to travel. By the time July 12, 2025—our first date—finally arrived, it felt like we had known each other for years (even if we were both a little nervous). For our third date, Josiah took Abby to her favorite jazz club in Durham (an activity that has become a staple for us!). We made things official the next day on July 18th, 2025. :) Pretty soon into dating, we both realized that this was it. We had met the person we had been praying for all these years, the one we wanted to share life with. We began praying and talking to friends and family about our desire to get married, and we were surrounded by wisdom and prayer in the process. On December 20th, 2025, Josiah proposed to Abby in his hometown on Mt. Tamalpais. We are eagerly awaiting our wedding day and to share it with all of you! We have been so deeply shaped by our relationships with each and every one of you, and we would love nothing more than to have you by our side as we take this next step into the rest of our lives. :)
