Colby College was chartered in 1813 in Waterville, Maine. While that seems like a strange place to start this story, it is at that small, liberal arts school where our four parents met one another and many of their closest friends. Abby and I grew up together at annual summer weekends (“Colby Weekend”), off-date turkey dinners (“Friends Thanksgiving”) and other ad-hoc get togethers the “Colby Crew” hosted. While we did not have our first date until after college, it is impossible to deny mutual interest. That interest manifested itself in standard ways at our young age: jealousy over who was better at baseball, an overly competitive game of ping-pong or Monopoly, and always trying to be on the same team for flashlight tag. Over the last four years we’ve matured to games of speed Blokus, White Mountain camping trips and raspberry mojito making. We have thrived so far largely because of the incredible support system of our family and friends (yes, you!). We could not be more thrilled to start this journey and are looking forward to celebrating with you in August!
