Where it all began...

We met our Freshman year of high school at friend's house after Wednesday night church. We both did not know much about each other except for the fact that we had a few mutual friends. Years passed, and we got to really know each other on a ski trip to Boone, NC. We both were unaware that the other one was actually interested! One Friday night we decided to get a group of people to hang out and go out to eat and last minute it ended up being just the two of us that actually didn't cancel... It was almost an accidental date. I am sparing the details of where we actually went to eat because I am now embarrassed of our final decision that took 45 minutes of driving around. (To give you a reference of time, Moe's BBQ in Trussville had just opened up that night and we went to eat there but they ran out of food!) Anyways, we had a great time that night and we both did not have any trouble coming up with topics to talk about. The lack of anticipation of a real "date" hadn't crossed our minds because there was no pressure. We were just two friends hanging out at the time! Later in the summer, before our senior year of high school, we ended up going to the same mission trip in Belize and the rest is history!

The Proposal

I was visiting Jordan in Nashville, TN where he was doing a four week clinical site for his DPT Program for Memorial Day weekend. We made a deal that he would get to plan a whole day and I would get to plan the next day. For his day, he told me I had to be ready at 9:15 AM. So we headed to a coffee place and he informed me we would be going on a picnic to a park I have always wanted to go to! The park has these beautiful historical stone grand staircase leading to the top of the hill. We parked at the top and began to walk down and he proposed right in the middle! My sister, brother, and sister in law ran out right after it happened! Right after they surprised me with a lunch with both of our families! It was the most surreal day and we are so thankful each and every family member who made the drive to celebrate with us. We are blessed with amazing people in our lives and Jordan could not have planned the day any better!
