This town is one of my favorites in Tennessee! Just 25 minutes from Nashville, Franklin is a charming town known for its historic downtown filled with unique shops and delicious restaurants. You can explore beautiful Civil War sites like Carnton Plantation, enjoy boutique shopping, and experience the charm of a small town in Tennessee!

Fox & Locke

Fox & Locke in Leiper’s Fork is a cozy, iconic spot where you can enjoy delicious Southern food and live music in a historic setting, making it a must-visit for anyone looking to experience local Tennessee charm. Jackson and I visited Fox and Locke in December of 2023, and we absolutely love it!

Carnton Plantation

Carton Plantation is one of Franklin’s most historic landmarks, known for its beautiful grounds and rich Civil War history! It’s a must-see while you’re here and a perfect place to enjoy the charm of Tennessee! Jackson and I love visiting here!

Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage

This is the beautiful home of our 7th President of the United States, Andrew Jackson. Not only will you be enamored by it's grace and beauty, but here you will discover the history behind the purchase and then residential use of this amazing property. A must if you enjoy historical tours!

Jack Daniel's Distillery

280 Lynchburg Highway, Lynchburg, TN 37352

Discover how the crafting of Jack Daniel's Whiskey has endured for over 150 years. You will have the opportunity to visit the actual site where every drip of the famous Jack Daniel's whiskey is distilled and then distributed across the entire world. You may even have the opportunity to sample some of this well known whiskey.

Historic Downtown Columbia Public Square

Public Square, Columbia, TN 38401

If you are wanting to experience the charming blend of Southern heritage and small town revival, this is the perfect spot to spend an afternoon. It's shops and dining opportunities are centered around the Maury County Courthouse which has been beautifully preserved and kept to it's 19th century architecture. The shops are unique, offering modern boutiques along with interesting antiques, as well as delicious dining opportunities. This sweet small town is known as the "Mule Capital", and is home of the famous Mule Day. It started in the 1840s. Farmers would bring their sturdy mules to be traded or sold right on the square property. They still honor this tradition every April. This town definitely captures the timeless spirit of Tennessee.

Leipers Fork

The small town of Leiper's Fork is known for it's curated boutiques, antiques, art galleries, and locally made goods. You will definitely find one of a kind treasures on this shopping experience. The quaint village itself is a historic district that offers a charming shopping experience like no other. David Arms gallery is a MUST if you decide to venture to this adorable town. Grab lunch at The Country Boy which serves southern comfort food made to feel like your having lunch at your Grandma's house. If you choose to stay into the evening hours, The Tornado Room is a speak easy located right beneath The Country Boy in it's basement, and offers live music and craft cocktails with a weather theme. You will know it's open by it's green light outside the door.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park

If you want to add a 3 hour drive to your adventures while in Tennessee, the Great Smoky National Park is a must see. It's many hiking trails are gorgeous and raw. There are many opportunities along the way to take a quick dip into the many creeks and water holes. (if you can stand the cold!) You most likely will have an opportunity to spot a momma Black Bear and her cubs as you drive through the park. Also, if you can walk the steep mile incline to the Clingman's Dome, you will have magnificent views of the mountains and parts of 7 states! Well worth the climb and the drive!
