Abby and Greg first met in November of 2021 when Abby had a job interview on a cardiac unit that Greg was working on. He just so happened to pick up this shift to do chemotherapy. As he was working, he was encountered by his manager, who was giving Abby a tour of the unit. The manager was trying to explain all the great experiences of starting a role with this new hospital to Abby, hoping Greg would gladly add from his personal experience, and when asked how he liked working there, Greg playfully said "the education modules are way too long, the program overall sucks, and I hate it here." Abby thought in her head, " wow, is this dude for real?" Despite Greg's warnings, Abby found herself starting a new job on the same unit three months later where their paths crossed again and again. The two became friends after Greg's "persistent" friendliness - as Abby calls it. Abby just wanted to show up for work, get work done, and leave. However, Greg would always check in on Abby, ask if she needed any help (especially with all her code neuros), and tell her (way too many) corny jokes to get them through their shift. What started as a casual friendship - bonding over shifts, quick runs to grab coffee (even though Greg later revealed he's lactose intolerant), and shared lunch breaks - eventually blossomed into something more. From that first meeting, they built a connection that grew deeper with every laugh, every conversation, and every shared moment. And now, here they are, about to start a new chapter of their lives together - both grateful for the serendipity of a job interview that brought them into each other's lives.
