Abby and Brenden met just 5 months after she moved to Seattle, in December 2021. After matching on Bumble, Brenden planned a Sunday date at a Woodinville winery, where he's from. The night before, however, he texted to say that he was out at a bar with some friends from college, in a neighborhood not far from Abby's apartment. He went to her place from the bar, meeting her for the first time while she was in her pajamas! They spent the evening watching The Santa Clause on the couch with her dog, Molly. Brenden would later share that, as he walked back to his car, he did a Breakfast Club-style fist pump. Abby would go on to text her friends and sisters about the sweet guy she had been texting and their impromptu casual first date. This night foreshadowed many cozy movie nights to come with the 3 of us snuggled on the couch. Come July 2023, Abby began medical school at the University of Washington, which moved her and Brenden to Spokane. They met some of their closest friends there, who were a huge asset when it came time to propose! Kenyon and Nadina took Abby to Manito Park for a picnic and crafts on a gorgeous, sunny Saturday. As they walked towards the pond after lunch, Brenden was waiting with a beautiful set-up and a sign reading "Will you marry me?" Our friends hosted a celebration for us afterwards with our families! Shelley, Ree, Jordy, and Chase had driven across the state to be there, while Jessica and Jen flew in from MA. We excitedly FaceTimed our friends and family who couldn't be there in person, celebrating with them from afar. It could not have been a more perfect start to the rest of our lives!
