Our Story

It all began in 8th grade drama class. We started as friends, and over time that friendship naturally grew into something more. We’ve always said we’re best friends first — and that foundation has shaped our relationship from the beginning. By sophomore year of high school, we found ourselves spending more time together with our group of friends. We went to every dance together, supported each other in sports, and slowly realized that what we had was something special. When college came around, Abby headed to Mizzou and Blayne went to CU. Freshman year meant long-distance, lots of calls, and visiting each other whenever we could. It wasn’t easy, but it proved how strong our relationship really was. Abby transferred to CU sophomore year, and the rest of college was spent studying side-by-side, cheering on the Buffs (sko!), and making some of our favorite memories with forever friends who will be standing with us on our wedding day. We graduated in the middle of COVID, so with an uncertain job market — and Abby starting her master’s — we moved in with Abby's parents, planned our next steps, and (thanks to Abby’s convincing) added our dog Leni to our little family. After time in DTC and Englewood, with both of us commuting to downtown Denver, we started thinking about what was next. Blayne was able to transfer to his company’s Avon office, Abby searched for a new role, and what started as a five-year plan turned into a much faster move when the perfect home in Eagle came along. We moved in June 2024, and mountain life quickly felt right — skiing, camping, hiking, hunting, and settling into a lifestyle we’d always talked about. A year later, after 11 years together, Blayne proposed on the same trail we hiked our first week in Eagle — followed by a surprise celebration with our closest friends and family. We’ve gone through so many stages of life together — high school, college, long-distance, first jobs, moving across the state, and building a home — and this stage is by far the best one yet. We truly couldn’t be happier, and we can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you.
