We first met in preschool at Happy Apple Academy. Obviously toddlers don't know much about love, but somehow Alex was always in my pictures (usually trying to hold my hand). We were friends, and for some reason, Alex only ever spelled out my name when talking about me, so I was just A-B-B-Y. This is where it all started, but we went to different elementary schools and then I moved away. When we were starting middle school, I moved back to Camden and started at St. Mary's Middle School. Sitting in homeroom on the first day of 6th grade, we saw each other and both thought the other looked familiar, but we weren't sure why. That afternoon, Alex went home and asked his mom who "the new red-headed girl" in his class was and why she looked so familiar. He then learned that it was A-B-B-Y, from Happy Apple. In our classes and through the long bus rides home, we became friends and stayed close until 9th grade, when Alex finally asked me out. As things go in high school, our ninth grade relationship didn't last and we went through a period of being far from friends for about a year. Then, the summer before our junior year, we started to talk a little bit again and finally started dating in the fall. As they say, the rest is history. On January 18th, Alex came home for the weekend. After going out to dinner, we headed back to his house and he stopped the car at the same place he asked me to be his girlfriend. We got out and he told me he had made me something. I was pretty puzzled at that point as he pulled out a book. The title of the book was "The Story of Us." At this point, I knew something was up. Then, the book told the story you just read, but with pictures. By the end of the book, he was down on one knee asking me to marry him and the last page had two boxes, one for "yes" and one for "no." Obviously, I checked yes. We have been so blessed in every chapter of our story so far. We love this new chapter and can't wait to see how the rest of our story unfolds.
