Agney knew that I loved Survivor - I made him watch it weekly, and he got into it too! So he worked with a gym in Chicago - an American Ninja Warrior gym specifically - to pretend that they were hosting a Survivor themed night. He told me that he found this event, and it would make a great date night. A week later, my boss asked me if I could travel during that week for work. I asked Agney about it, since I knew we had a date night planned. He very firmly said "I would prefer if you did not travel that week" and so I told my boss I couldn't go. I was a little suspicious at this point, but didn't want to get my hopes up! The day of our "date night," I had a really bad day at work. When I got home, I told Agney that I didn't want to go out and I just wanted to cuddle on the couch. He kept telling me how much it would be, and finally convinced me to go - about 1 hour late. When we got to the gym, we walked in, and there were a bunch of really athletic people doing crazy things on an obstacle course with someone taking photos of them - I was very intimidated! So once again, Agney had to convince me to go inside. Finally, we lined up to do the Survivor night obstacle course. There were a bunch of obstacles with puzzle piece bags to pick up along the way. At the end of the obstacles, everyone did a puzzle that said "Survivor" on it. When I went to do the course, at the very end, my puzzle was different than everyone else's. I knew it was the proposal at this point and I could see the puzzle said "Will you marry me?" on it, but I didn't know if I should just stop doing the puzzle and say "yes" or finish it, so I decided to finish it. This led to some awkward silence while everyone waited for me to finish the puzzle. Finally I put the last piece in, and Agney got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!
