Where can I find something traditional to wear for the Shaadi?

Answer

It means so much to us that you’re joining in this celebration, and we can’t wait to see everyone dressed in festive, colorful attire that matches the joy of the weekend! We encourage traditional South Asian outfits or festive formal wear in bright, vibrant colors. We kindly ask that guests avoid wearing white or black. For the ladies: Sarees, lehengas, or shararas are wonderful choices. These are traditional South Asian outfits often made with flowing fabrics, embroidery, and beautiful detailing. A Saree is a long, draped garment; a Lehenga is a long skirt paired with a blouse and dupatta (scarf); and a Sharara is a wide-leg pant set with a matching top and dupatta. For the gentlemen: Kurtas or sherwanis are perfect. A kurta is a long tunic, while a Sherwani is a more formal, structured coat-style outfit. Not sure where to shop? Will transportation be provided to the events?

Answer

Transportation will be provided on Friday, June 12, between the AC Hotel Downtown Raleigh and Donovan Manor. The shuttle will depart from the AC Hotel for Donovan Manor promptly at 4:00 PM. Return transportation from Donovan Manor back to the hotel will be available at 11:00 PM. Transportation will not be provided on Saturday, June 13, to The Distillery. Parking is available on-site, and Uber and Lyft are readily available in the area.

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Weather permitting, Friday’s ceremony and cocktail hour will be held outdoors, followed by an indoor reception. Saturday’s event will take place indoors.

What is formal attire?

We’d love for everyone to dress up with us! Tuxedos or dark suits for men, and floor-length gowns or elegant midi dresses for women—feel free to embrace a little southern summer charm!

Can we bring our kids?

We absolutely love your little ones, but both of our celebrations will be adults-only. We hope you can take the opportunity to enjoy a night out— a chance to relax, celebrate, and have some well-deserved fun with us!

We want to keep our special day intimate, so formal invitations will include the names of all invited guests. Thank you so much for understanding!
