celebrate with us!

We lovebirds are both introverts And having a small wedding just makes sense However, we don’t want anyone to feel hurt So instead of a large wedding, a large celebration will commence! We're having our reception first And we're so excited, we could burst. There will be food, and love, and laughter to share Because we are inviting friends from everywhere! Gifts are welcome For an engagement party nor wedding shower will be had If you could make it We would surely be glad!

Joel and Abby met in third grade. The only thing Abby remembers about him is that he cried on his first day of school, and the only thing Joel remembers of Abby are her knee socks. Clearly, Abby was the cool one... Once their year of cursive writing and long division was over, they didn't really speak to each other again. Fast forward several years, Abby is about to board a plane for her second year as a teacher in the Middle East, and she gets a message from Joel. He just wanted to send a bit of encouragement, prayer, and blessing for her next year overseas. It turns out, just a bit earlier, he had been working in the Middle East as well! She essentially replies, "gee, thanks for thinking of me!" and goes on her merry way without realizing at all that he may have been trying to do more than encourage her in her work. Abby's year commitment flies by, and she prepares to move back to the States for a longer term. It hits her then, "hmm...that message was awfully friendly. I wonder what this guy's about..." So she reconnected and asked to meet up so they could share their Middle East experiences. On Fourth of July weekend, 2018, they get together for the first time since they were children. Joel didn't cry, Abby wore normal sized socks, and they fell in love.
