How We Met

Like many modern love stories, ours began with a simple swipe.

We matched on Tinder, started talking, and quickly realized there was something special between us. What began as a casual conversation turned into countless laughs, unforgettable adventures, and a love neither of us expected to find. Looking back, we're so grateful that one swipe led us to our forever.

Our First date

For our first date, he picked me up from my dorm, and we headed out for dinner to get to know each other. Conversation came easily, and after dinner we decided to play a few games of pool. If you ask him how it went, he'll confidently tell you that he won. If you ask me, you'll hear the real story—I definitely beat him. That friendly debate has somehow survived ever since. Looking back, what started as a simple dinner and a game of pool turned into the beginning of our favorite adventure together.

The Proposal

Our proposal was nothing short of an adventure. During a trip to Alaska, we hiked 2.5 miles up Mount Healy in Denali National Park, gaining over 2,000 feet in elevation along the way. After what felt like endless switchbacks, we finally reached the summit, where we soaked in the breathtaking views and enjoyed some well-earned snacks. Once we finished taking in the scenery, I started getting cold and was more than ready to head back down. He kept insisting on taking "just a few more pictures," and after one final "Okay, let's go," I turned to gather our hiking gear. That's when an adorable little ground squirrel appeared and completely stole my attention. As I was busy taking pictures, I turned around and noticed him standing... strangely. Naturally, I asked, "What are you doing?" Without missing a beat, he replied, "Stretching." Somehow, I believed him. I went back to collecting our gear, thinking he was walking over to help. Instead, I caught his shadow moving, turned around, and found him down on one knee with a ring in his hand. He asked me to marry him, and it was the easiest "yes" I've ever said. Now, every time we think back on that day, we're grateful not only for the unforgettable view at the top of Mount Healy, but also for the tiny ground squirrel who unknowingly helped make the surprise possible. He'll always be the real MVP of our engagement story.
