We first met during our school holidays while working in catering at Chester Zoo. What began as a chance meeting over shared shifts and casual conversations soon grew into a meaningful connection. Amid the hustle of busy summer days, we found something special in each other. Though the job was temporary, the bond we formed was not. From those early days serving snacks and sharing laughs, our journey together has grown into a lifelong partnership—one that began in the most unexpected of places, and continues today with love, commitment, and joy.

After seven years together, Owen planned a romantic dinner during their holiday to Taghazout, Morocco. The meal itself didn’t quite go to plan—and the presence of several cats (which Abbie has never been fond of) only added to the tension. Despite the rocky start, the evening ended perfectly. During a quiet walk along the beach, Owen proposed, and Abbie said yes.
