Charlie and Abbie first met in February of 2012 at Maine Maritime Academy. Abbie had driven up from Manchester, NH to visit her friend Mo for the weekend. Mo brought Abbie aboard the training ship "State of Maine" for a tour, where Charlie happened to be on watch. The two chatted briefly, and then went on their way. A few months later, the two met again on the weekend of Ring Dance (the story goes, "Abbie stole Mo's date.") From then on the two kept in touch while they both finished their junior year of college. They became "official" when Charlie returned home from his Junior Cruise in July and Abbie was waiting to greet him at the dock. They maintained a long-distance relationship until graduation, when they were both able to move back to Portland, Maine. Recently, the two purchased their first home, a multi-unit fixer-upper in South Portland. Here they happily reside with their precious floof, Matilda cat. They are so excited to be married on August 21st, by one of their nearest and dearest friends, and the person responsible for bringing them together, Mo Blanchard.
