In celebration of future Mr. and Mrs. Giles

It all started in Bangor, Maine. Ben was studying Physical Therapy at Husson University while working at the Bangor Planet Fitness, and Abbie was studying Dental Hygiene at UMaine Augusta. One day, Abbie came in for a workout wearing a wrist brace after pushing herself a little too hard on a crafty school project gone wrong. Ben, in his first year of PT school, took one look at her wrist and gave his best “future physical therapist” opinion. Later, after her first OT appointment, Abbie was very excited to tell him that he had cracked the case — and she was already pretty proud of him. What started as a simple conversation eventually turned into something more. After some time apart while Ben was approaching clinical rotations and Abbie was practicing in the dental field, they somehow bumped into each other again at, of course, Planet Fitness. This time, Ben learned that Abbie loved being outdoors, loved fishing, and even owned a pink fly-fishing rod. Before long, they were spending nearly all of their free time together at Hermon Pond — fishing from the kayaks, paddle boarding, laughing, and soaking up Maine summer evenings. Somewhere along the way, everything started to feel easy, like they had known each other forever. One night out on the water, Ben looked over at Abbie and said, “I love fishing with you… you take all the mosquitoes.” Honestly, that pretty much sums up their relationship: full of laughter, sarcasm, adventure, and making the best memories out of the simplest moments. From fishing trips and long summer nights on the pond to building a life together, they have continued to support each other through every season. What began with a wrist brace and a pink fishing rod turned into a love story they never could have expected. Now, they cannot wait to celebrate this next chapter surrounded by all of the people they love most.
