Hey there! I can't believe how our casual night out in Carrollton turned into one of the most incredible experiences of our lives. It's wild to think that despite spending four years in Carrollton while at the University of West Georgia and Auston being from Carrollton, we never crossed paths until that fateful day on January 30th, 2021. If you ask Auston about our first meeting, he'd playfully say he "picked me up" from the bar, which is not entirely inaccurate. After some encouragement from our friends, Auston did indeed find me on the Carrollton square. I was out with my friend Brittany, who had been talking about Auston all night, insisting that we were a perfect match. And you know what? She was absolutely right! Despite the initial challenge of Auston moving to Knoxville for work just a week after we met, what I thought might be the end of a short-lived connection turned into a long-distance relationship that only strengthened our foundation. Fast forward three years, and here we are, eagerly counting down the days until we tie the knot on October 19th. Time flies when you're on McLeod nine! #onmcleodnine
One of my all-time favorite stories to share! Our families orchestrated a beach trip, and I initially thought it was to accommodate our brothers, Tucker and Jack, who had a limited window due to college commitments. Little did I know, Auston was planning the most AMAZING proposal. We arrived at Miramar Beach on July 29th, 2023 and spent the day soaking up the sun with our families. Our evening concluded with delicious Mexican food and a few rounds of margaritas. The next morning, at around 5 am, Auston woke me up, suggesting we take a walk on the beach to watch the sunrise. Still a bit groggy from the margaritas, I initially brushed it off, thinking he couldn't sleep due to his night shift at work. Little did I know, he was gearing up to pop the question and ask me to be his wife. Talk about a sweet surprise! 😊 With the promise of coffee, I sprang out of bed, threw my hair up, and put on some clothes. We strolled along the beautiful beaches of the Gulf of Mexico when suddenly Auston ran into the ocean, emerging with the most perfect, beautiful shell. Excitedly, he exclaimed, "Look at this shell!" Thinking it was just a clam shell, I peered inside to discover a gold band. That's when Auston got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! Tears flowed, and I joyfully said yes. It was the most intimate, surreal moment, and I remember every detail like it was just yesterday. Major kudos to Auston for planning the most beautiful trip and proposal! And I must say, he didn't disappoint with the ring!
