ROME Flying into Rome is often more affordable, though it requires a train ride of approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes to reach Siena. FLORENCE Florence is about an hour train ride from Siena. Florence is a good place to stay if you arrive a few days early as they have a lot to do and you will still be close to Siena. Renting a car is also an option, though driving in Rome can be challenging. Please note that cars are not permitted within the historic centers of Florence and Siena. However, convenient parking garages are available just outside the city centers for a daily fee.
