July 25, 2020 we matched on a dating app. Ashley said heyyyy (with 4 y's) and Abbi said haha hi! We went on our first date a week later. We both loved coffee so we had our first date at a coffee shop named Homers on August 4th. Our date lasted almost 2 hours. The next date a week later lasted 8 hours. That next Saturday, August 15, Abbi asked Ashley to be her girlfriend. And since then our relationship has been filled with coffee dates! ♡ -Abs & Ash
Preparing for the proposal was a bunch of fun but also very stressful. I never lie to Abs, so I had to work my way around that to plan the ultimate surprise! I had made a group text message with all our people called the "Math Team". I had our friends and family help set up this special surprise. We would be camping at the spot where we both knew that we wanted to marry each other, so this was a special spot to both of us. First off, we got to the campsite later than originally planned. Regardless, when we got there my parents said, "ya'll need to walk down that way and see this bridge", before we even walked into the camper! Abs is very confused, I act confused as well. We are both freezing, because it's cold and had been raining, but we walk down to the bridge. Abs doesn't have her glasses on, so she sees something but can't make it out what it is. It was the balloons. We walk down and I say, "wow, maybe someone is having a birthday or something?" Then Abs notices that it's set up for a proposal. I then read a letter to the love of my life and propose! SHE SAID YES!!!! ♡ Tons of pictures are taken by my made of honor and her girlfriend. We then walk back to the camper and my parents are like, "we should drive around!" Abs wants to tell the whole world, but I'm trying to get her to not do that yet because we pull up to a cabin. I told her, "and we're staying here, in this cabin!" We walk into the cabin and SURPRISE all of our friends and family are there ready to celebrate with us! We celebrate and have one of the best nights of our lives! A night we will never forget! ♡ -Ash
Shortly after Ash proposed, I knew I needed to do something special. It was Sunday. We were back from camping. Spring Break was almost over, and I wanted her to be able to come back to her students with an engagement ring and an adorable story just like I was going to get to do. I went out to run errands and, while I was out, I asked Ash what drink she might want from our favorite coffee shop - J&S. She told me and I set out to the coffee shop. The owner was there to take my order and I told him my plan. I was going to write "Will you marry me?" on the outside of the cup. He was surprised because A. he had never had somebody do that before and B. I don't think that he had ever realized that we were lesbians. He was fully supportive, found me the perfect sharpie, and gave me the drink for free. Even though Ash had already asked me, I was still so nervous for some reason. I was actually so nervous that I forgot to even order myself a drink. I got home and tried to play it cool and hide the cup as I asked her to go enjoy it with me on the balcony. Once we were settled outside, I finally showed her what was on the cup, and got down on one knee. Just in case you were wondering, it was the fastest yes I have ever heard. ♡ -Abs
April Fifteenth Two-Thousand Twenty Three. We picked this date because if you rearrange the numbers you get 012345. If you know us well enough, you know we like weird number things (mostly Ashley). BUT also, our anniversary is on the 15th, so getting married on the 15th was a must!
