Things To Do

We have found so many special spots around Chattanooga since we moved here. While you are in the area, check out some of our most recommended places in town!

Point Park

110 Point Park Road, Lookout Mountain, TN 37350
, (423) 821-7786

The best view of Chattanooga, the pinnacle of fabled Lookout Mountain, a turning point climax in Civil War history and landmarks. The spot of many historical photos of the city have been taken here, including of Ulysses S. Grant. This is also the spot where Zach proposed - making it our most favorite spot in Chattanooga.

Chickamauga National Battlefield

3370 Lafayette Road, Fort Oglethorpe, GA 30742
, (706) 866-1159

If you are in town for longer than just the weekend, Chickamauga was one of the largest battles of the Civil War, one of the largest intact battlefields in the US and the oldest established battlefield park.

Tennessee Aquarium and National Medal of Honor Heritage Center

1 Broad Street, Chattanooga, TN 37402
, (423) 265-0695

Very well done aquarium, the beginning of Chattanooga's revitalization, and not just for kids! Great view of the Tennessee River and fun area to be around with various art sculptures and architecture dedicated to the Aquarium, as well as the Cherokee Indians. The complex is also home to the Medal of Honor Heritage Center, which was just recently built and is a great source of historical learning.

Rock City Gardens, Ruby Falls, Incline Railway

1400 Patten Road, Lookout Mountain, GA 30750
, (706) 820-2531

Chattanooga's most famous attractions. Some would say you really haven't been to Chattanooga without going to one of these. Founded in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, these attractions offer great views of the surrounding Tennessee Valley, in a historically designed park setting.

Chattanooga Choo Choo

92 Choo Choo Avenue, Chattanooga, TN 37408
, (423) 266-5000

Named for Glenn Miller's famous tune, a historic train station that has been converted into a shopping and restaurant district. If you decide to stick around after the wedding, ice skating will be open in the plaza!

Walnut Street Bridge

1 Walnut Street, Chattanooga, TN 37403
, (423) 643-6096

The country's longest pedestrian bridge! Built in 1890, walks next to the Edwin Hotel, across the Tennessee River and to the North Shore Art District, which is home to Coolidge Park, many great restaurants and the famous Clumpie's Ice Cream.

Old Gilman Grill

216 West 8th Street, Chattanooga, TN 37402
, (423) 269-7449

Our favorite spot to go with Zach's parents, a fine dining yet casual experience, has great food and drinks in a nice setting with excellent service.

Niedlov's Cafe & Bakery

215 East Main Street, Chattanooga, TN 37408
, (423) 756-0303

Best bakery and breakfast in Chattanooga. Feels very European and provides bread goods to most restaurants in the city.

Feed Table and Tavern

201 West Main Street, Chattanooga, TN 37402
, (423) 708-8500

Great place to eat, not just for the food but for the ambiance. Located inside of an old bank. Reservation definitely would be recommended, as this place fills up fast. Lots of good comfort food, but a personal favorite is the Hoff Wings.
