FAQs

If you have questions specific to the Westin Poinsett or transportation from the airport, please call the Westin at 864.421.9700 and ask for Sarah Baker.
Question

What is "black tie optional?"

Answer

Simply: tuxes and ballgowns are preferred, but not required Defined: "Black-tie optional is a signal that the couple wants guests to dress up but doesn't want to require ultra-fancy attire. For women, this generally means a full-length silhouette. For men, a tux isn't required but welcomed."

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We’re so excited to celebrate this day with our families and friends and we are hoping to keep the guest list inclusive of our loved ones. If your invitation indicates "and Guest" or your significant other's name, we are happy to welcome you and your date. Thank you for understanding.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the ceremony?

Answer

Furman is approximately 20 minutes from Downtown Greenville and there is plenty of parking at both locations, should you choose to drive. If you prefer a ride share, Greenville has plenty of Lyft, Uber, and other options. We are additionally providing a bus that will bring guests from the Westin Poinsett to Daniel Chapel for the ceremony and back to the Westin for the reception. The bus will depart the Westin at 3:45 pm

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

The formal invitation will include a reply card. Please send the reply card back using the addressed envelope as soon as possible with your response. RSVP's will be accepted until September 1st, so please do not delay! Additionally, when invitations are mailed out, there will be a tab on this website to allow for online RSVP to ensure that nothing is lost in the mail. Please be sure to mail your RSVP card back as soon as possible to ensure that you are accounted for.

Question

What are the COVID Protocols?

Answer

Times are ever-changing. We hope that the chapel and reception spaces will be fully opened up by our wedding date. We will update this FAQ as things progress. Currently, non-vaccinated guests are asked to wear masks in the chapel.
