Right in the heart of downtown Coeur d’Alene, explore the wild beauty of the publicly owned Tubbs Hill peninsula with an easy trek on the Tubbs Hill Nature Trail. Tubbs Hill consists of over 120 acres and is bordered by Lake Coeur d’Alene on the west, south and east sides. There are several miles of hiking trails on the hill that provide spectacular scenery for everyone to enjoy. Directions: The trail head on the west side of Tubbs Hill is located in the south western corner of McEuen Park, at 210 S. 3rd Street.
My absolute FAVORITE morning walk/run! The North Idaho Centennial Trail is 23 miles long, extending from the Idaho/Washington state line to Higgins Point, 6 miles east of Coeur d’Alene at the end of Coeur d’Alene Lake Drive. You can walk, jog, or bicycle on a Class I & II paved trail. At state line, it connects with the Spokane River Centennial Trail, which extends through Riverfront Park (22.5 miles west of the state line) and on to Nine Mile Falls.
Gooey, the Famous Confection – The Coeur d’Alene Resort! For veterans of The Resort’s dessert menu, the thought of Gooey’s will get taste buds tingling and mouths watering. When you order a Gooey, expect a larger-than-life ice cream sundae — mounds of ice creams, syrups, chocolate and candies that fill a cup fit for a king. Sit back and enjoy the most beautiful sunset on Coeur d'Alene Lake.
Get your floaties out and tan-on! You can rent paddle boards, paddle boats, jet skis, and pontoon boats here as well through the resort. Or just hang out on the beach and build a sandcastle. Beach volleyball offered down the beach road one mile west.
The trail's 73-mile route winds through the mountainous terrain of historic Silver Valley in northern Idaho. Its begins in Plummer and travels east into the chain lakes region, along the shore of Lake Coeur d'Alene, over the Chatcolet Bridge to Heyburn State Park, and concludes with a climb to the northern Palouse prairie. The route passes through 20 trailheads.
The Route of the Hiawatha - Scenic mountain bike or hike trail is 15 miles long with 10 large and dark train tunnels (Nine that you ride your bike thru.) and 7 sky-high trestles. The ride starts with a trip through the 1.661 mile long St. Paul Pass Tunnel, also known as the Taft Tunnel. It is a highlight of the trail that follows the crest of the Bitterroot Mountains near Lookout Pass Ski Area. The best part is.... it's mostly downhill with shuttle buses available to transport you and your bike back to the top. This family friendly trail is easily enjoyed by a wide variety of people from young children to super seniors.
