"The way Abbey tells the story" Six years ago Lance and I were placed on the same co-ed soccer team. I only knew Lance as "hot soccer guy" which I had nicknamed him to my friends. But after a few games I realized he and his friends were so loud and obnoxious! I spent half the games keeping them in check on the soccer field and listening to their crazy stories at half time. We played soccer together for a couple years. Then one night we ran into each other out and about in Fairbanks and Lance seemed to have FINALLY worked up the nerve to ask for my number. We went on a couple dates and then I moved to Washington and Lance moved to Georgia. Over the years we kept in touch and I visited him in Georgia. A little over two years ago we started dating and he talked me into moving to Georgia. We lived in Georgia for about a year and a half until Lance requested to move back to Alaska. After many fishing and hiking trips during the summer, we decided to try a new hike with the dogs up Wickersham Dome in the White Mountains just outside of town. We took a break at the top after about 3.5 miles. Lance asked me to look at something weird under a rock and when I turned to look he was on one knee (I didn't notice yet, and was looking under the rocks), he then pulled out the ring box from under another rock and asked me to marry him! Let's just say it was a great hike and will be forever a special place for us. We have now bought a house in Alaska and live here with our two fur babies, Boots & Gage. I never would have guessed six years ago that we would have ended up where we are today but I am so happy we did and I cannot wait to marry my best friend! Because our family is so spread out all over the U.S. and it is very expensive to fly to Alaska during the summer we chose to have our wedding on a working Organic Farm in Monroe, WA. We can't wait to see you there!
