Our Story

Abbey's POV...

We had gotten back to school, I started my freshman year of college and he his senior year of college in 2021. We both were involved in music very heavily! We had many classes together including band, choir, and even ballet! I also got to know him through playing disc golf, which he presented at an organization fair and I thought "well, I played golf in high school, trying a different APPROACH (haha, get it?) wouldn't hurt! I consistently showed up to practice when I could and also met some of his friends and members of his fraternity, Sigma Tau Nu. We ended up getting to know each other from spending time together and then the first musical of the year comes around. We had to watch so many performances since we were music majors. I convinced my mom (Pam) to come with me because I hadn't made too many friends yet and she agreed. We get to the theatre and we sit in our seats (At the time, they were still assigned seats because of COVID, now they are not!) and low and behold these frat boys walk in, and ask to sit in our row. Little did I know one of them would become my future husband believe it or not. We let them in and I asked my mom to switch seats so I could sit by this one frat boy...the Universe truly was my wing woman (of his wing man) for sitting us by each other and asking my mom to switch seats so I could sit by this guy I knew and didn't realize I had feelings for yet. Through out the show, we had been touching arms and shoulders, butterflies in my tummy!!!! There were instances throughout this upcoming week that had given me inklings that we had something going on here. He picked up my bag of discs for me and walked with my shots for example. Then COVID STRIKES THE BAND... rehearsal gets cancelled and the trumpets decide to go get Dennys in tiffin (RIP). He had gotten asked to play trumpet, which he hated, but he got to spend more time with meeeee!!!! So I offered to drive since I knew the area and I had 2 passengers. One was my future husband, the other a friend! We sat beside each other at dinner and I dropped the one person off after we were done. As soon as that person shut the car door my future husband says to me "Do you want to come hang out at my place?". Me thinking I have homework to do said "sure!" and I definitely don't regret that decision! We watched Fantasia 2000 and held hands! And from that day forward, I would end up staying at his frat house with him instead of my own dorm room for which my mom was paying for (sorry mom) and by that February of 2022, he popped the question! I did have boundaries and stated I wanted to finish school before we got married officially, and NOW IS THE TIME!!!! YAYYYYY!!!!
